Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited came into existence on 21st August 1978. It is registered under The Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960. The bank was sponsored in the year 1978 by group of enthusiastic social workers associated with the Billawar Association, Mumbai , a leading Charitable Institution.
The bank has a customer base of more than 12 lakhs. It received stature of scheduled bank on 22nd April, 1996.
The current branch count of the bank is 34 including six branches in Karnataka four of which are located in Bangalore and one each in Udupi and Mangalore. The 34th Branch was inaugrated at Jayanagar Bangalore on 18th February 2010.
The bank has performed commendably in the last decade in terms of expanding its branch network, mobilization of deposits, deployment of resources and profitability.
As on 31st March 2009, the NPA level of the bank has been reduced to Rs 33.62 crores.
The bank has implemented core banking solutions for improvement in customer service and customer satisfaction.
It currently has 18 ATMs. SMS Alerts and Telebanking facilities to check Account details, are also available to increase customer convenience.
The Bank has registered with Reserve Bank of India under INFINET (Indian Financial Network).
The Bank processes and issues LIC policies on life under attractive schemes from Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and General Insurance Policies covering mediclaim, ownership premises, stock, furniture, fixtures and other valuables through New India Assurance Co. Ltd. |
