The account can be opened by any individual singly or jointly, institution, society, or minor who is 10 years or above in age. Bank offers various facilities to the account holder such as payments to LIC and house rent at nominal cost, free account transfer between branches. The bank has a Simplified KYC procedure for those persons who want to open savings account but the balance in their account should not exceed Rs 50,000/- in all their accounts taken together and the total credit in all their accounts taken together should not exceed Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only) in a year. In such cases bank has set certain conditions for opening the account. The account can be opened through introduction from another account holder who has been subjected to fulfill KYC procedure and the introducer’s account should have at least six months old. Photograph of the person who wants to open the account and his/ her address should be certified by the introducer or any other identity and address proof of the customer to the satisfaction of the bank.
