Bank passbook can be used as proof for passport

Passbook holders can now use their passbook as the identity proof. It has been reported that ministry of external affairs will accept the specific bank statement and passbook as their identity proof.

The customers of Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank, Dena Bank, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, Punjab and Sind Bank can enjoy this facility. Earlier electricity bill or telephone bills were accepted but now bank passbook will resolve this problem.

Some other are banks are also there Syndicate Bank, Union Bank of India, United Bank of India, UCO Bank, Vijaya Bank, IDBI Bank, SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Travancore.
