IOB aims to add 400 branches in next FY

Public sector lender Indian Overseas Bank has laid plans of setting up as many as 400 branches all over the country in the coming financial year.

The lender aims to increase its total branch count from 2616 to 3000 in the next fiscal, said CMD of the bank, Mr M. Narendra.

So far, in a period of 18 months, the bank has been able to set up as many as 540 branches all over the country of which 432 branches have been set up in this fiscal.

Mr Narendra also added that the branch count of the bank in Karnataka was 144 by end of February 2012.
