Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested former deputy manager of State Bank of India in Patna under alleged charges of taking bribe. Ajay Kumar Sinha, the accused has been arrested for taking bribe of Rs 30,000 for sanctioning a loan. He was working as deputy manager (Small and Medium Enterprises Cash Credit Centre), State Bank of India, Main Branch, Patna. "A complainant, resident of Kankarbagh, had applied for a loan of Rs 25 lakh for installation of Rice Polishing Plant under Prime Minister Employment Guarantee Programme (PMEGP). For processing favourably of the loan, the accused demanded a bribe of Rs 1.20 lakh from the complainant and the matter was negotiated through a middleman for Rs 30,000 as first instalment of bribe," CBI statement read. "CBI laid a trap and the accused was arrested for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from the complainant," said the CBI spokesperson.
