State bank of Travancore is planning to increase its retail business by 10%. It has been reported that bank is facing a drop off in the corporate sector of the bank. Last day Jeevandas Narayan, Managing Director, of the bank reported that currently they are not having much opportunity in corporate sector so they are looking forward to enhance their retail business.
Further Mr. Narayan stated that the slowdown in auto loans of the bank is another factor of concern. In order to increase the CASA the bank is planning to raise its salary accounts. On the other hand bank is aiming to expand its banking network by establishing 37 more branches in Chennai and 22 branches in rural areas. Further bank will also launch 65 new ATMs, at present bank is having 129 ATMs in country.
