10-15% usage of cards accounts only for online transactions :RBI

According to RBI data 10 -15% cards are used only for online transactions. From millions of credit 10-15% cards accounts for the online transactions usage.

According to the Master card evaluation the maximum credit card payments made are from top 20 cities of the country, with Delhi, Mumbai and suburbs accounting for the 43% of the transactions. And according to Visa reports the people earning salary in the range of Rs 75,000 to Rs 1 lakh are the most prolific users of the credit cards.

RBI report stated that credit cards hold an important part in the e-payment, since now days people are making many payments like bill payments through their cards only. A majority of credit card purchases come from expenses on jewellery, dining and shopping, the RBI added. Credit cards have shown more growth than the debit cards.
