Banks opening new savings account under PMJDY speedily

According to the recent reports the banks are working hard to make the PMJDY a success and make every household to have a savings account by next year. As per the reports till 19th November banks have successfully opened 7.73 crore new savings account under PMJDY scheme.

Banks are coming up several measures for this scheme. Recently Corporation Bank has organized a special camp for this scheme. The Chairman and managing director of the corporation bank has reported that Bank has opened a total of 12.83 lakh accounts under the PMJDY with a balance of Rs 211.03 crore.


Banks have also been asked to issue the Rupay Debit cards to the customers opening account under PMJDY. The most of the accounts have been opened in Rural and backward areas of the country to facilitate banking in underprivileged sections.
