Credit card users to use card for online transaction at least once: HDFC

One of the leading banks of the country – HDFC bank recently declared that the credit users of the bank cannot avail the benefits on the card such as free insurance covers if they do not use the card for the online transaction once in a month.

Even the customer uses the card at the ATM, but in order to enjoy the benefits and keep the Personal accident cover active customer needs to use the card for the online transaction at least once.The HDFC stated that through this measure the bank wanted to develop the habit of card among the users instaed of using cash for the daily purchases.

Further this will increase the use of credit and debit cards at the POS and will help the bank to earn huge revenue. The measure will be effective from 1st of july, 2014.
