IDBI bank to double up the number of banking branches

Private sector bank – IDBI bank is planning to roll out credit card soon. The bank will launch its credit card in association with the Visa, followed by MasterCard. Till now the bank was more focused on the Retail portfolio rather than the credit card business. Bank also reported that IDBI Bank has the lowest share of CASA among public sector banks.

Now bank has planned to initiate with the credit card. Today only State Bank of India and four nationalized banks have over one lakh cardholders. Apart from this bank is also planning to expand its banking network by setting up new branches. Currently the bank is having a network of 1000 branches and ban aims to double up the branches by March 2015.
