Indian Post setting ATMs in Thiruvananthapuram

Indian Postal Department has decided select group of places in the country to set up ATMs of the department over there. Initially the Indian Post is planning to set up the ATMs at the GPO in the city and sub post offices at Poojappura, Neyyattinkara, and Attingal. The facility will be provided in some other post offices in the city and also at Kottarakara, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Kannur later.

This will help the 11.77 lakh postal savings account holders in the city in banking transactions, and further with the help of Core banking solution the post will extend this ATM facility to the other banks as well.

It will also offer postal saving account holders online banking and mobile banking facilities. Earlier the lesser number of people were engaged but the Indian Post is able to carry 200 transactions per month.
