SBI launching mobile POS devices

Country’s largest leading bank State bank of India is set to come up with mobile point of sales devices across the country. SBI has signed a contract with point of sale provider Ezetap.

In coming five years SBI will deploy 500,000 terminals which will convert any mobile device into point of sale through its software and hardware. Mobile POS has the power to transform the payment. Without much difficulty and at cheaper cost these can be deployed all over the country. This SBI-Ezetap platform will assist the bank to provide many value-added services for merchants and consumers from a single , secure point of sale device and application.

Electronic payments will also help towards the economic growth of the country. This will be very easy to use. There are more than 300 million unique credit and debit cardholders in India. Its device consists of a light-weight card reader that can be plugged into any smart device or feature phone and can be used by a retailer easily.
