SBT reported a drop down of 50% in its net profit

According to the reports last year State Bank of Travancore gained a profit of Rs 615.04 crore, which dropped down by 50% and came down to Rs Rs 304.34 crore, However the overall business of the bank has increased from Rs 152,108 crore to Rs 160,119 crore during FY14.

On the other hand the deposits increased from Rs 84,624 crore, to Rs 89,337 crore nd the advances went up to Rs 70,782 crore. Other income grew 30.46 per cent to touch Rs 851.95 crore, as against Rs 653.02 crore. The percentage of net NPAs to net advances stood at 2.78 per cent.

The bank has launched 104 new branches in FY 14, making a total of 1117 branches from which majority of branches i.e. 820 branches accounts in kerala only. SBT has also launched the service of kiosk banking. At present the bank is having a huge banking network with 1117 branches and 1352 ATM across the country.
