Yesterday commissioner of police R P Sharma strictly instructed the banks to hire and place security guards at the ATM outlets. Seeing the increasing number of ATM frauds and attacks, MR. Sharma issued the reminder to the banks for the second time to be serious regarding security of the ATMs. It has been reported that the ATMs without the guards may face closure.

Banks need to take the security measures soon. Senior authorities might issue the deadline to the banks, before which they need to take the steps otherwise unguarded ATM would be forced to shut. According to a report about 70% ATMs in the Bhubaneswar city are lacking security guards. Further banks are also asked apart from security guards to install advanced facilities like CCTV cameras. The secure ATM will boost the customers to use the ATM without any fear. This will help them to reduce the robbery and snatching incidents of the ATMs which are on hike in the country these days.
