The leading bank of the country – State bank of India besides the banking is also leading in the number of complaints. For the year 2013-14 the maximum numbers of complaints are registered against SBI.
Bank has been ranked at first position with 1960 customers, following this Indian bank is at second position with 910 complaints and Indian overseas bank with 740 complaints.
Among private sector banks ICICI is at the top with maximum number of complaints. U. Chiranjeevi, Banking Ombudsman (Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman and Nicobar Islands) stated that now the customers are well aware regarding their rights and duties due which the number of complaints have increased. He said 8,775 complaints were received during the year against 7,255 last year. Majority of complaints are regarding the delays and lapses in loans and advances processing.
