ICICI bank and DMRC together launched a combo card

Second largest leading bank of the country, ICICI bank has launched a dual card in association with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). This is a unifare card which will provide dual functioning to the users. User can use it as a debit/credit card as well as a smart card for the metro travelling.

This an innovative card offering dual card benefits to the user. Bank will also be launching similar cards in other cities with metro rail systems , like Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore. But the cards issued for the metro of one city cannot be used in metro of other city.

Users can top-up these cards at ICICI Bank kiosks put up at 54 stations of the Delhi Metro. But these cards cannot be topped up at the DMRC’s ticket facilities. According to the reports there are nearly 2.5 lakh credits/ debit card users of the bank, and nearly 24 lakh people travel by metro daily out of which 60% uses prepaid card. Bank expects that within a year 1 lakh metro users will be using this combo card.
