National bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has launched Rs 100 crore area development scheme (ADS). Covering the five districts in Odhisa the scheme is launched for assisting in inland fishing activities. Lately J K Singh Kharb, executive director of Allahabad Bank and P K Jena, regional director, RBI-Bhubaneswar along with the Deputy Governor of RBI initiated the scheme. From March 2015, the scheme will be effective. This scheme will help in increasing the productivity of ponds. It is expected to have a productivity of 2000 kg per acre. The scheme will also increase employment. On an average 1000 people will have the chances of direct employment and 4500 indirect. NABARD has also planned to organize financial literacy camp in association with the Allahabad bank. |
