SBI started fellowship program for rural development

To make the young people work for the development of the country, State bank of India has initiated a new program 'SBI Youth for India fellowship'. This fellowship program will make the urban youth to work for the development of the rural part of the country. The youth will be working on several development projects for 1 year.

The SBI has decided to start up this program in association with the NGOs. It has been reported that it will have 100 SBI youth for India fellows working at 35 rural locations in 15 States across the country. The program will be cover various issues for the rural development, women’s empowerment, health, education, environmental protection to rural livelihoods.

According to the reports the last date for the applications for the SBI Youth for India fellowship (2014-15) is June 30, 2014. More than 4,800 candidates have already applied for the fellowship. Chairman of the bank stated that “Through this fellowship, the youth will gain knowledge about how people make do with very little resources, how the other side of India lives”.
