Banks to go for Zone wise relay strike for wage revision

The agitation of the bank’s employee regarding the wage revision is still on. After the nationwide strike of the banks on 12th Nov, 2014, the bank have now planned to go for a zone wise relay strike from 2 to 5th December.

For the first time such kind of strike is going to happen in the banking industry. Through the strike the employees demonstrate in each zone keeping their demand of the wage revision.

The strike will began from the southern zone on December 2 followed by the Northern Zone (Dec 3), Eastern Zone (Dec 4) and Western Zone (Dec 5). Banks have also stated that if the wage revision issue is not resolved soon they may continue for more strikes further. There are 27 public sector banks in the country with employees’ strength of about 8 lakh.
