Branches of Authorized banks to stay open for advance tax payments on the weekend

All authorized banks have been instructed by the government to ensure that their branches which have been designated are working during the weekend so that individual and corporate tax players can pay their advance tax for the first quarter by September 15.

The finance ministry stated "the authorized banks designated branches are supposed to be operations on September 14 and 15, 2013 in order to accept the tax payments in advance. Payments made on September 16 (Monday) will also be accepted."

As per the requirement, taxpayers should make their quarterly advance tax payments should be done on or before September 15, 2013. It was stated “The liable tax payers need to make their advance tax payments at the branches that have been designated”

In the public sector the State Bank of India's designated branches and branches of ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IDBI Bank and Axis Bank in the private sector can accept the payments.
