FinMin inaugurates State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur’s 1000th branch

The public sector lender, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, reached a new milestone recently by opening its 1000th branch. The landmark branch was inaugurated by the Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram.

Following the inauguration of the branch ‘Sambhar', the finance minister went on to appreciate the efforts made by SBBJ in reaching out to customers in not only in the remote corners of Rajasthan but also across the country. He added that the associate bank of State Bank of India (SBI), SBBJ enjoys great goodwill amongst public in Rajasthan.

On the occasion, the Chairman of the State Bank Group, Mr. Pratip Chaudhuri said that SBI along with its associate banks have always focused on fulfilling the needs of the society.      

Later, Mr. Shiv Kumar, the Managing Director of SBBJ, said that the bank has developed and changed according to the changing times and has always kept itself updated through means such as innovation, flexibility, online banking etc.

Currently, SBBJ has 1000 branches across the country and has done a business of Rs. 20 lakh crore so far. Initially, it had just 124 branches and a business turnover of Rs. 45 crore only.
