The apex bank of the country has come up with new plans for the migrants and transferable employees. In order to ease the verification norms for these customers RBI said that only one documentary proof is required to be submitted while opening an account in the bank.

Customer will need only a single document (either permanent or current) for opening the account. After receiving complaints from the customers regarding the problems faced while submitting current/permanent address proofs, RBI decided to ease the process and make the norms easier for the customers.

RBI stated that customer will be required to submit a single address proof and in case some changes occur in the address, the new address proof should be submitted to the bank branch with in a period of six months. In case the proof of address furnished by the customer is not the local address , bank may take a declaration of the local address on which all correspondence will be made by the bank with the customer, no proof of such address will be required.
