A person is allowed to make 12 investments every year in the range of minimum and maximum limits specified (Rs 500-Rs 70,000). •There is no wealth tax associated with PPF. •In case of insolvency of the account holder, the amount held in PPF account does not get associated with remaining assets. Disadvantages of PPF: •It is a long term investment and thus fails in terms of liquidity. •Online transaction facility with PPF account is limited to the extent that money can be transferred it only if the person has savings account with same bank. The facility is available with State Bank of India.
