The public sector bank, Central Bank of India, has planned to do business worth Rs. 10,000 crore in the home loan segment in the current fiscal year. It is targeting potential home loan customers through a variety of schemes and programs.
On the matter, the Chairman and Managing Director of the Mumbai based bank, Mr. Mohan Tanksale said, "As on September 30, 2012, our home loan business touched Rs 6,800 crore and by March 2013, we are targeting to add business of Rs 4,000 crore. Hence, we can achieve the target of Rs 10,000 crore by end of this fiscal."
Recently, the bank held property exposition by the name "Swapna Sankul - 2012", which has reportedly been a success. The bank plans to hold more such property expos at about 100 cities across the country before the end of FY13.
In addition to home loans, the bank is also targeting auto loans segment to achieve its business targets. Customers who are availing home loans are being offered rebates on interest rates on auto loans.
On this, Tanksale said, "Looking at the success of Swapna Sankul-2012, we will hold similar expos and trade exhibitions in association with industry partners in the auto loan segment also. Home loan business would remain our prime focus."
The bank has a branch network of 4100 branches spread across 77 cities of the country.
