The HDFC is going to open more than three hundred branches in various cities and villages of the country. As of June 30th 2013, the bank has 3,119 branches, all over the nation. The bank has submitted its plan to the Reserve Bank of India for the license to open new branches. The bank is going to hire between 1000-2000 employees. The bank feels that the current economic situation in the market, would not affect the plan of the bank, in opening the new branches. The bank is confident of performing better than the industry. The HDFC country Head Mr. Navin Puri said that the poor performing of the INR is good for the Non Resident Indians and the bank is enjoying from the additional growth of the NRE deposits. He said that there are many reasons for the downturn of the credit growth. During this fiscal, the bank is going to open eighteen rural branches in Haryana State and fourteen of them are going to function in the unbanked areas. About 90,000 people would be benefited from the bank branches. |
