Teaser rates are not likely to take an exit route soon, said HDFC Chairman Deepak Parekh said.

Parekh said that the recent future will not be seeing any change in teaser rates for home loans.

"If one continues with it, then others too will follow. I do not think it will be discontinued now. Rather it could well become a permanent affair," he added.

He also said that these rates are being offered by all banks after some alterations.

Now, the deposit rate is lower than the advances, so the banks are now borrowing from RBI," he said.

Parekh has also confirmed that there is no dearth of money for the government borrowing program.
