Andhra Government announces Rs. 1500 crore package for women self help groups

Andhra Pradesh Chief Mininster, Mr. N.Kiran Kumar Reddy has announced a loan pacakage worth Rs. 1,500 crore for the women's self help group in the state.

The government is working towards upliftment of the women, and would provide Rs. 1,500 crore of loan through Sreenidhi Bank, said Mr. Reddy. He was meeting women working for self help group (SHG) in Pedagaddea village in East Godavari district.

"The state government is taking all initiatives to further strengthen women in the society and will provide interest-free loans to all women (working for SHGs) in the state," he added. He further said that quick loan sanctioning of 48 hours would be provided to women applicants.

Mr. Reddy later distributed Rs. 3.86 lakh of loans to the self help group women present.
