Banks should work more for the welfare of the poor and youth

Governor of Kerala Nikhil Kumar while launching the 800th branch of the South Indian bank on the 85th anniversary of the bank, asked the banks to do more towards the upliftment of the poor and youth. While inaugurating the branch of the bank at Aranattukara in Thrissur he called upon the banks and other financial institutions to play an essential role in working for the growth of poor and youth of the society.

At the occasion the governor presented the SIB excellence award to 6 great personalities including former managing director of DMRC E. Sreedharan, renowned poet ONV Kurup, playback singer P. Jayachandran, renowned oncologist VP Gangadharan, cine actor Innocent and chairman of V Guard Industries Kochouseph Chittilappilly.
