Public sector lender Corporation Bank has planned to focus primarily on the MSME sector as well as farm loan segment this financial year, informed a top official of the bank.

According to Mr Ramnath Pradeep, Chairman and Managing Director of the bank, the bank is aiming to book 25% rise in its loan book in this fiscal. "We will be focusing on agriculture and MSME sectors to achieve this," he said.

While working towards the MSME sector, the bank said it would tie up with industry associations. This tie up will help banks in identifying target customers and meeting their requirements therewith.

Also the bank will tag 100 branches for SME lending.

Speaking on focus on the farm lending front, Pradeep said the bank would be offering financial assistance for organic farming.
