DCB bank planning to open more branches in less populated area

Now the competition between the banks is going to increase, since more new banks are there to start up after the RBI’s approval. In order to increase the banking services and have a strong base, DCB bank is planning to double its number of branches in the country. It has been reported that bank will be opening branches in the areas where the population is low.

At present the bank is operating with around 117 branches in the country, and now bank is aiming to have 200-300 branches in coming 2-3 years. The opening of new branches will also create job opportunities for the people, the bank will be hiring 8-10 new employees for each branch. The bank is having stronger base in northern and western part of the country, so now the bank will establish more of its branches in southern and eastern parts of the country.

The managing director of the bank reported that bank has done well in the SME and retail segments while the bank needs to be more careful in the mid- corporate segments.
