Nabard to provide consultancy services to Karnataka Bank clients

Nabard Consultancy Services (Nabcons), a wholly owned subsidiary of Nabard has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Karnataka Bank to provide consultancy services to the customers of the latter.

Nabcons, which specializes in project appraisals, would assist the Karnataka Bank customers to prepare techno-econmic appraisals and feasibility reports for agricultural investments.

The two companies have signed the MoU for three years and Nabcons would also provide services in the field of women empowerment, training, microfinance, et al.

In a press released issued by the bank, Mr. P. Jayarama Bhatt, Managing Director, Karnataka Bank said, "The bank has already identified 51 ‘green branches' across India for focused agricultural lending."

The bank intends to disburse agriculture loans worth Rs. 3,770 crore for the current financial year.
