Subvention interest to farmers on term loans

In the agriculture sector, formation of capital could be a great deal more if the Government were to give interest subvention on term credits to farmers, Arundhati Bhattacharya, the Chairperson of SBI stated that the present interest subvention office is sure to short term crop loans and not for term developments availed by farmers.

SBI has endorsed to the Government that the later should just give premium subvention on term developments to farmers in place of tying it to cash credit (transient credits) alone, she reported. "Agriculturists are at present using transient developments (where there is venture subvention) for arrangement of irrigation systems, sprinklers and pump sets. This consistently puts them in a tension", she business
