Training institute coming up at Rajarhat: SBI

India's largest lender, State Bank of India is coming up with its sixth apex training institute at Rajarhat in the eastern region of Kolkata; SBI has laid the foundation stone for the institute.

Christened as State Bank Institute of Management, the institute would be built up on a 10-acre plot acquired commercially from the West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd, a press release said.

According to the press release, Mr. Pratip Chaudhuri, Chairman of SBI, said one of top most priorities of the bank would be to train the 5,500 officers and approximately 20,000 clerks recruited in the last couple of years.
