A sum of Rs 6000 crore gathered with the banks under PMJDY

It has been reported that under the PMJDY the bank have collected a sum of Rs 6000 crore and above. The banks have successfully opened 7.9 crore bank accounts.

Department of the finance ministry has informed that the PMJDY scheme is designed to introduce the banking world to all the people. It is specifically for the women and underprivileged sections of the society. Through these savings accounts the people have deposited Rs 6000 crore under the PMJDY.

The scheme also offers the facility of Rupay debit card and insurance cover of Rs 100000 lakh. Corporation bank also stated that the money deposited by the people is given by the bank for various works and businesses thus providing development of the country. 9.13 lakh account holders have been issued with the rupay debit cards.
