By the means of kiosk banking services will be improved in the rural areas of Thiruvananthapuram. Akshaya centres will be establishing kiosk across the state. Already new kiosks in 196 places have been set up, with 3876 new accounts and 1082 transactions are made. The kiosk will be offering various services. Through kiosk one can easily open account, deposit money, withdraw money from bank accounts and transfer of money to another bank account holder in other locations will also be possible.

This measure is the part of the project of the Union Finance Ministry for making the access of banking services to the rural people. According to the measure it is necessary that every sub-service area of 1500 households has to be covered by a banking channel as part of financial inclusion, so that people can easily access banking facilities. Many banks in the state have come up to join the initiative. Many banks like SBI, PNB, South Indian bank, corporation bank etc have tied up with the akshaya centers.
