One of the biggest private sector banks in India, HDFC Bank has set up its 10, 001st Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in Kovalam, Kerala. For inaugurating the new ATM, the bank invited Mr. K. Jayakumar, the state Chief Secretary.
The commissioning of the 10, 001st ATM in Kovalam comes after the setting up of the bank's 10, 000th ATM in Ajmer Sharif, Rajasthan. The bank issued a statement which said that it strives continuously to serve the customers through all means including all electronic channels - be it ATMs, internet banking or mobile banking. It further said that increasing number of ATMs would ultimately help the customers who will be able to fulfill their banking needs as per their convenience.
On the occasion the zonal officer (Kerala) of HDFC Bank, Mr. Hari Velloor said that the bank has more than 133 branches and more than 270 ATMs in Kerala alone. He also said that the bank strives to give its customers world class banking services in the state.
Similarly, Mr. Rahul Bhagat, the Country Head, Retail Laibilities (Marketing & Direct Banking Channels, HDFC) said that over the years the bank has created its electronic channels in such a way that it offers the facility of choice and convenience to its customers, who are spread across the country. He also mentioned that the bank has 70 percent ATMs in the non metro cities.
