Private sector bank – HDFC bank has planned to roll out a new initiative named ‘EduConnect’. The bank wanted to reach out the students across of about 10,000 schools in rural areas of Assam. EduConnect will be career counseling program that will guide the students regarding their career. The bank has partnered with FUEL (Friends Union for Energizing Lives), an NGO to provide the career counseling to students across the rural areas. Through this initiative the HDFC desires to bridge this gap, connecting high school students to the higher education and job markets. At the launch of the program in Guwahati it was reported that the lack of education and information is a major problem for the students in the rural areas. FUEL will provide career and education guidance to students, adopting a systematic approach towards helping them decide their course of education. |
