ICICI Bank to enable banking transactions via Facebook soon

Private sector bank, ICICI Bank is planning to launch its transaction services on social networking site facebook. It is to be noted that it became the country's first bank which used social media to extend account inquiry and chequebook request services to customers.

The bank has taken this initiative as part of its Khayaal Aapka (your care) philosophy. With this, the bank's customers will be able to perform banking transactions through facebook. Explaining the bank's initiative it's Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Mukesh Kumar Jain said that the bank may introduce the new service in a few months. He also added that social media is expected to become an important medium of providing banking services to customers in the future.

It is reported that the bank has launched electronic branches, Tab banking and e-locker services across the country as part of its next gen banking solutions.
