Indian Post wants to work as a complete universal Bank

It has been reported that Indian post wants to turn itself into a full fledge Universal bank. Chief post master stated that they are waiting for the nod of the RBI. Further he stated that there is a committee under Subramanian which has been formed; they are going to give some recommendations.

From past so many years Indian post is receiving deposits, mobilising savings in short working as the payment bank and now Indian post wants to work as a complete universal bank. The govt. has to finalize the decision whether to allow the Indian post to work as the universal Bank or not.
